Jasmin De Anda was born and raised in sunny San Diego. While she spends most of her time drawing and designing items, writing has always been her passion. Jasmin hopes to continue creating characters she loves, and stories for readers to immerse themselves in.
Since she was a child, Jasmin has always had a passion for creative projects. In high school, she was part of her school’s multimedia program where she was able to pursue her passion for storytelling. It was there where she was able to explore new creative interests such as photography, film editing, graphic design, and layout designing.
In December 2020 during the COVID shutdown, Jasmin and her mom Isabel needed a change. Isabel shared her desire to make candles with natural ingredients. That was when Jasmin suggested they start their own online store and sell their products. Isabel got to work making beeswax candles, and eventually began making vessels out of concrete. Jasmin began designing painted journals, wood letters, and jewelry cases. Although they are still working on reaching more customers, they both enjoy their work more now.
But in 2021 when Jasmin finished her book, her excitement was dampened by the multiple form letter rejections she received from the literary agents she had contacted (read the story behind her book here). Wanting nothing more than to share her fantasy story with the world, in 2023, she got to work to self publish. She registered a new DBA name under their LLC which would act as their publishing imprint, she filed for the copyright certificate for her book, and designed her cover. On May 28th, 2023 she was officially a published author. Now she continues to work on her stories, hoping readers will enjoy them as much as she enjoyed writing them.
